Hi-thanks for stopping by. I’m Sandy Laipply, an artist, a designer, a wife, a mother, a grandma, a sister, a friend, and sometimes a Jill of all Trades. I’ve always been an artist-from the time I began making clothes for my paper dolls and then sewing clothes for my real dolls on my tiny Singer sewing machine. My favorite presents as a child were any kind of art supplies and I still remember the thrill of a new box of Crayolas-64 colors!!! I love to draw, color, design-you name it! I tend to get really cranky if I have to spend too much time with left brained things like balancing the checkbook and doing taxes!
I spent many years in the craft industry designing projects for magazines, books, TV shows and web sites and I loved every minute of it. I draw my inspiration from the things around me-mostly flowers and nature. I leave the gardening to my sisters, but I love flowers and painting them gives me so much joy. And I never run out of ideas for Christmas. I live in a small town in north central Ohio with my hubby and our rescue dog so we get to enjoy all the changing seasons. I’d like to be a little closer to water, but that’s what vacations are for, right?
When I’m not working family time is the most important thing to me, but that’s getting harder as our kids and grandkids have lives of their own, and they’re not in our town. This year has been especially hard, but Zoom has been a Godsend! We love playing cards and games, and who said we’re competitive? For quiet time I love to try the latest craft, read or listen to music, and you can always find me glued to the TV during college football season. Go Buckeyes!
