There is a magnificent mansion and gardens close to where I live, Kingwood Center. It’s open to the public, and one of the best times to visit is when the tulips are blooming. Thousands and thousands of tulips, in every color! I was inspired to paint this, in a class with Louise Jackson.
I think it’s important to always keep learning and stretch our minds and our creative muscles. I’ve been taking an online class-“30 Faces in 30 Days” and, boy, has it pulled me out of my comfort zone! Here’s one of the portraits I painted in this class. What are you doing to stretch your creative muscle?
Spring is in the air here where I live in north central Ohio. We haven’t had a really bad winter-except for 1 week, but I am sooooo ready for spring. I see new growth just starting in my yard, and the air just feels different. I’ve made it a point to go sit on the patio every afternoon and just soak up the sun when it’s out. Our dog, Mozzie, loves to go with me, and some how he knows when I head toward the back door that’s where we’re going. This is a watercolor batik painting I did that I had made into greeting cards. What’s your favorite thing about spring?
